Fusion-io's 80GB IoDrive Is Fastest Storage Device - Gizmo Watch: "Data transfer speed enhancement is the best Christmas present for a geeky nerd. The NAND flash memory based, 80GB Fusion-io’s ioDrive may not be for the nerdy soul (as we still await its consumer model), but it is the ultimate for a data center server which requires extremely fast speed for IO. Tweaktown has tested the ioDrive for its ability, and according to them it is the fastest storage device they have ever tested. Though the ioDrive is similar to the solid-state drives we see around using the NAND flash memory, the only difference lies in the fact that unlike the latter that use an SATA port to connect, the ioDrive uses a PCIe slot. Like all good things come for a price, there isn’t anything different with the ioDrive, the 80GB costs $3,000 and the price varies up to $14,400 for a high-end 320GB model."
