With the number of badass smartphones hitting the main fray lately, we were only wondering over the fact as to when someone would tip up some augmented reality into these handsets. We’d been hearing of AR making it into phones to let us fell a life in the future, and it is an application of the iPhone 3GS that we have final to help us experience just that. The iPhone 3GS’ video camera, using GPS and a compass, lets us overlay the nearest subway stops for every line on the video camera. Made by Acrossair, the app is only for the iPhone 3GS and will only benefit the souls in central London to begin with, but could soon find itself stretching to other landmarks. It’s time still before it reaches the app store, so you can start forming the queue.
