Acer’s Aspire8920G: World’s First HD Notebook, Or Is It? - Gizmo Watch: "8920G Gemstone by Acer is a wonderful new notebook. It is packed to the brim with features and comes in a great color scheme. But is it the world’s first “HD notebook”? Well not quite, it is instead the world’s first 18.4-inch full HD notebook. That done with, Acer’s latest offering does pack in a lot of features to provide you quality for money. The 18.4” display is coupled with Blu-ray, 1920 X 1080 resolution, GeForce 9500M GS graphics, and Premium Dolby Home Theater with (get the hang of this) a “tube” style subwoofer! Also, there is a textured trackpad and some really cool but distracting blue LEDs. The full HD touting 8920G also boasts of six speakers for an enhanced sound-experience. Here’s a list of the some of the specs on this lappy:
• Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo Santa Rosa T5720 2.0GHz
• Memory: 4GB (2×2GB)GB
• HD Capacity: 320GB
• Display: 18.4″ WUXGA CrystalBrite Display
• Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS 512MB
• Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium
• Optical Drive: Blu Ray
• Networking: Ethernet Gigabit LAN, Wireless N WLAN, Bluetooth 2.0
• Sound: Dolby-certified 5.1 surround sound system (2 speakers + subwoofer)
• Features: HDMI, CrystalEye Camera, Finger Print Recognition, 6-in-1
All these features come at $2,699. I’d say that’s not too pricy considering all the features crammed in.
