Whatever, both dreams and wishes are your own secrets, but what if they all knew what you were thinking? A team of researchers in Japan claim to be developing a technology that would see dreams and thoughts displayed on a computer screen, so nothing remains a secret anymore. The Researchers at the ATR Computational Neuroscience Laboratories have managed to reconstruct single images from the brain, a first ever visual demonstration of what people see directly from brain activity. The technology, however, eventually intends to display on screens the images directly from the human brain, including what people have on their minds down to their dreams. After the brain aiming to control computers, it’s time for the computers to know what the brain’s cooking… are you game?"

Will a Computer “Symbiote” be Implanted in Future Human Brains?: "Will future humans have computers implanted in their brains? Researchers are developing a neural implant that can think independently—just like the human brain does. Creepy? Yeah. Cool? Definitely. Scientists at the University of Florida aren’t just creating a neural implant that can translate human brain signals, but one that can act independently to increase its efficiency and synergy with the brain as it learns new things.
'In the grand scheme of brain-machine interfaces, this is a complete paradigm change,' said Justin C. Sanchez, Ph.D., a UF assistant professor of pediatric neurology and the study's lead author. 'This idea opens up all kinds of possibilities for how we interact with devices. It's not just about giving instructions but about those devices assisting us in a common goal. You know the goal, the computer knows the goal and you work together to solve the task.'
These “brain computers” are programmed with complex algorithms that can interpret thoughts. But the algorithms used in current brain-machine interfaces are incapable of adapting to change, Sanchez explains. They are order-takers, but not adaptive problem-solvers."

Ultrasonic Neuro-navigation System To Work On GPS Principles - Gizmo Watch: "Hospitals might not have to spend precious funds on expensive neuro-surgery equipment thanks to a mechanical engineer from the Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Ajay Mahajan, a professor has developed an ultrasonic-based locational system to identify problems within the brain and thankfully it isn’t too invasive. Though neuro-navigation for brain mapping is not new, the technique involves using a camera, which invites human error. Mahajan’s system replaces the camera with a head restraint from which ultrasonic sensors branch off and map a probe’s movement through the brain in three dimensions. It works like the GPS system except that instead of satellites, ultrasonic receivers are used. It might cost just about 10% of what a neurosurgery equipment might cost. The project is still in a nascent stage and the prototype has not been created either."

Mind "read" By Trained Computer - Gizmo Watch: "To understand linguistic ability of a human mind, a computer has been trained to understand how words and mind images of words are linked. Researchers of Machine Learning Department of Carnegie Mellon University at Pittsbrugh have recently published their findings in journal Science. The computer can ‘read’ people’s mind by looking at their brain scans as they imagined or thought about specific words. The main aim of the research is to understand how and where brain stores information. This study might also help in treatment of language disorder and learning disabilities in people."

Duke University - pesquisadores colocaram eletrodos no cérebro de um macaco na Carolina do Norte para mapear sinais de movimento de perna e então transmitiram esses sinais pela Internet para controlar um par de pernas robóticas no Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International in Kyoto, Japan.
